Still faulting the administration of then president and now congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for numerous corruption mess, former general of the armed forces and now deputy commissioner Danilo Lim of the Bureau of Custom, vowed to continue the fight for what he called “unfinished revolution.”

In his speech during the launching of Genuine Livelihood Initiatives for the Masses (GenLIM) at Bohol Tropics last Friday, Lim said his “unfinished revolution,” is the fight against corruption in the government and instituting reforms.

Gen. Lim enplaned here for the launching and paid courtesy call to City Mayor Dan Neri-Lim, Rodolfo Caneda, secretary-general of the GenLIM group said.

After awhile, he proceeded to the weekly press conference of Gov. Edgar Chatto at the governor’s mansion and answered questions from the members of the Bohol Tri-media Association.

Lim proceeded to the launching of his group — GenLIM attended by different non-government organizations, such as BANGON or Bohol Alliance of NGOs with former executive director Atty. Raul Barbarona and other sectors including the students and youth.

The launching was made possible with the attendance of the town officials — 13 municipal mayors led by former congressman and now Trinidad Mayor Roberto Cajes and 10 vice-mayors led by Balilihan Vice-Mayor Efren Chatto, brother of the governor.

Lim said while he is with the Bureau of Customs, he also fights against smuggling as his contribution “to be part of the solution” to the pro-poor reforms under the leadership of President Noynoy Aquino.

Asked by the media if the launching of his group is part of his launching of his candidacy for senator in next year’s elections, the commissioner said that there’s no definite decision on that matter yet.

But he admitted that he is being considered in the senatoriables’ list under P-Noy’s slate.

Lim, who has been put behind bars twice the latest of which was during former Pres. Arroyo’s regime, told the media it’s too early for politics and he is focusing first on his job.

He added that whether or not there’s election, he remains committed to push for reforms.
